Sports Legends at Camden Yards

Sports Legends at Camden Yards opened to the public in May 2005. Located in historic Camden Station at the gateway to Oriole Park at Camden Yards, the Museum features the history, heritage, and heroes of Maryland's sports in the largest multi-sports museum in the country.

A total of fourteen theatrically staged exhibits display the collections of the Baltimore Colts, Ravens, Orioles, Maryland Terrapins, Naval Academy, Baseball Negro League teams of Maryland, the Johnny Unitas collection and many other sports unique to the state of Maryland.

One of the main exhibits in Sports Legends at Camden Yards is a salute to the music of Maryland pro-football with a display dedicated to the Baltimore Colts' Marching Band / Baltimore's Marching Ravens, now celebrating their 59th year.

On display are all seven band uniforms worn since the band's inception in 1947 up to the Marching Ravens of 2006, telling the Maryland pro-football history each uniform has witnessed.

There is no other band in the world that can boast of such a fantastic heritage than the Marching Ravens. When Baltimore lost their professional football team not once (1951/52), but twice (1984-1995), the marching band continued on to promote Baltimore and return a team to the city with the sound of music.

Marching bands are featured a second time in the Museum as part of the College Game Day exhibit. It showcases college bands from Maryland and the importance they play in tradition, entertainment and winning a game for their team.

Sports Legends at Camden Yards is a great field trip opportunity for your band. Enjoy the history of sports and learn from living musical history that the band always plays on.
